Zumiez is a U.S. based retailer of apparel, footwear, and hardgoods for young men and women. It operates Blue Tomato in Europe, acquired in 2012, and Fast Times in Australia, acquired in 2016. In the U.S., Zumiez stores are primarily located in malls.

"North America is the core market for this brand. The European and Australian store fleets were acquired and likely have not been accretive.

High insider ownership and long term thinking from Richard Brooks and Thomas Campion are positives.

After years of struggle post covid a recovery was underway in 2025 with positive comps and a second year of positive sales growth. Zumiez started to stumble in Q2 of 2026 with weak traffic and poor sales on shoes. They are now guiding for a low single digit sales decline in 2026 and 1.7% operating margins.

An EV of $100 mill looks appealing if they can return to pre-covid levels of profitability in 2028. I don't think 2027 is on the table with the weakness expected in the back half of 2026.
